I-77 runs through Bolivar, putting neighboring cities and communities, and the attractions therein, within reach. To the north, Canton is located approximately 12 miles away, and Akron is approximately 35 miles away. Nearby communities include the village of Zoar, Strasburg, East Sparta, Mineral City, Navarre, Beach City and Magnolia.
Bolivar residents may access the many employment opportunities in Tuscarawas County and Stark County, which is home to major corporations including Timken Company, Diebold Nixdorf, the Kenan Advantage Group, and more. Situated on the southern tip of Bolivar, Fort Laurens is the historic site of Ohio’s only Revolutionary War fort, and now hosts a museum telling the story of the fort dating back to 1778. Just across the river near Fort Laurens lies Wilkshire Golf Course. While Bolivar is primarily residential, there are a handful of restaurants and shops scattered throughout the community.
